What started out as just a Master’s Project three years ago for W.B. James Wade D’Acosta, Habitat for Humanity became an annual charity event for the brothers at Fidelity-St. John’s Lodge # 3. This past May 6th, 2017 being the 3rd annual event.
The day started with clouds with a chance of rain. However, not a single drop fell from the sky as the Great Architect provided a beautiful day for the brothers to use the working tools to help the families in need of a new home. Throughout the day, the brothers from lodges throughout District 1B joined the brothers of Fidelity-St. John’s # 3 install insulations in a two-story duplex in the east side of Bridgeport, CT. Much of Habitat for Humanity’s work this year is concentrated within this neighborhood. The organization plans to build three duplexes which will be ready to house six families by the end of the year.
For any brothers with their own lodges would like to help, Habitat for Humanity are always in search for extra manpower to fulfill their goals and to help families in need. If any would like to volunteer or donate, please visit the Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County website at http://www.habitatcfc.org.
